KEY PERSONNEL

THE BIO5 INSTITUTE

Kevin Hall is the director for research training and career development at the BIO5 Institute. He oversees BIO5 education and training initiatives for high school, undergraduate, and graduate students. Kevin is actively involved in promoting bioscience education across the state, and brings to KEYS a background in both scientific research and informal education.

Thom Melendez is the Associate Director of Development for the BIO5 Institute. As a Development Professional, Thom oversees the Major Gift fundraising for the KEYS Internship, as well as other Education Outreach programs at the BIO5 Institute. Additionally, Thom brings to KEYS nine years of classroom teaching experience and an ongoing commitment to having a positive impact on students and to advancing education in Arizona.

Mon-Ning Fung is an undergraduate student at the University of Arizona majoring in Microbiology under the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences. She was a KEYS intern in the summer of 2007 working in the lab of Dr. Marc Orbach. Currently, she is a student office assistant for Kevin Hall at the BIO5 Institute.

 

SOUTHWEST ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH SCIENCES CENTER

Marti Lindsey is the director of the community education and outreach core of the SWEHSC and teaches health literacy for the College of Pharmacy. She teaches about reading research papers during the KEYS Institute Week. For more about Marti see her SWEHSC page.

Daniel Sotelo is an undergraduate student at the University of Arizona majoring in Nutritional Sciences. He is a former KEYS Intern, 2007, and has worked in a Toxicogenomic laboratory during his first year at the University. Currently, he is an outreach specialist with the community education and outreach core of the SWEHSC. For more information about Daniel’s research please click here.

THE COLLEGE OF SCIENCE

Dr. Nadja Anderson is the director of the BIOTECH Project in the Department of Molecular and Cellular Biology at the University of Arizona. She teaches the bio-tech portion of the KEYS Institute Week. For more about Dr Anderson see her BIOTECH page.
