For Teachers
Teachers play an important role in fostering the intellectual and social development of high school students during their formative years. The education that teachers impart plays a key role in determining the future prospects of their students. Whether in charter, private or public schools, high school teachers provide the tools and the environment for their students to develop into responsible adults.
High school teachers act as facilitators or coaches, using classroom presentations or individual instruction to help students learn and apply concepts in subjects such as science, mathematics, or social studies. Teachers plan, evaluate, and assign lessons; prepare, administer, and grade tests; listen to oral presentations; and maintain classroom discipline. Teachers observe and evaluate a student’s performance and potential.
If you see a student who has great potential and strong interest in the field of biomedical research, please introduce that student to this program. This enrichment opportunity provides hands-on experience in a medical laboratory and a strong foundation for future acceptance and success at The University of Arizona.
Our next application process begins February 2009 and we hope you will evaluate and assess potential students who you feel would benefit from this opportunity and recommend our internship program to them. If you have questions please email Marti Lindsey at lindsey@pharmacy.arizona.edu or Stephanie Nardei at nardei@pharmacy.arizona.edu.
